What I think about when I’m running – Seattle

I’m in Seattle this week for a conference, and of course I was going to go on at least one run while I’m here. I love running on the West Coast, because I feel like I’m running so fast, which I am, thanks to being at sea level. I will admit that the first few runs back in Calgary will be tough when I’m back to a mile above sea level, but hey, that’s life.

Here are some of the thoughts I had on my run in Seattle the other day:

All right, let’s do this, Seattle!

Stop at the traffic light. Man, these lights take forever.

Dodge the guy smoking pot.

Traffic light.

Traffic light.

Dodge the guy smoking pot.

Down the hill at Pike’s Place Market and hang a right.

Dodge all the tourists outside the original Starbucks.

OK, down this road and down…this huge flight of stairs. I’m going to hate these on the way back!

Made it to the seawall. Wow, it’s windy down here!

Beautiful views!

Big ship!

Beautiful view!

Holy wind!

That’s a crazy sculpture…looks a bit phallic.

Beautiful view!

Big ship!

OK, turn around and head back.

Hey, the wind isn’t so bad this direction.

Hey, that phallic sculpture is actually a giant face when you see it from this direction. Cool!

Beautiful view!

Ferris wheel! Safeco Field!

Yup, totally hating this big flight of stairs.

Dodge the tourists at the first Starbucks.

Traffic light.

Dodge the guy smoking pot.

Traffic light.

Traffic light.

Traffic light.

Dodge the guy smoking pot.

Traffic light.

Yay! Made it back to the hotel. And look at my splits! I am the fastest runner ever!
