I don’t know about you, but when I attend a conference, I take notes…and then forget about them. I have really good intentions to do something with the information and ideas I come away with, but they end up in the back of a notebook only to be quickly forgotten.
Last week, I attended (at volunteered at) the CASE 8 conference. CASE is the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and our district includes British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Washington, Montana, Oregon and Idaho. I attended several great sessions and got lots of ideas to apply to my job at the law school. The only difference is that I actually did something with my notes. I wrote the key ideas on the whiteboard in my office as a way to keep them top of mind as I start planning my communications and marketing strategies for the next academic year. I even took a photo of my “Good ideas to try” list!
What to you do make sure you keep track of the ideas and information you gained at a conference?
